Writesonic Review
AI Writer · Content & Copywriting
Budget-friendly long-form writing with built-in SEO optimisation and AI search tracking.
Our take
A budget compromise rather than a best-in-class anything. Fine if one subscription has to cover both writing and SEO; otherwise pair Claude with a proper SEO tool.

What Writesonic does
Writesonic bundles article generation with keyword optimisation and, more recently, tracking for how your brand appears in AI search results. It is a reasonable middle option if you want SEO-aware drafting without paying Surfer or Frase prices on top of a separate writing tool.
How marketers actually use it
Give it a target keyword and it will research the SERP, produce a structured long-form draft and score it against what is currently ranking. Useful for getting a rough article to 70% in one pass; the remaining 30% is where the human effort still has to go.
Best for
- SEO-aware article drafts on a tight budget
- Bulk-producing programmatic or location-page content
- Tracking brand mentions across AI answer engines
- Solo marketers who want writing and SEO in one subscription
Watch out for
Output quality is a clear step below Claude or Jasper and needs real editing. Feature breadth comes at the cost of depth.
Writesonic pricing
Free trial credits; paid plans scale by word volume and features.
Checked August 2026. Pricing changes constantly — confirm on the official site before you buy. There are no affiliate links on this page.

Is Writesonic free?
There are free trial credits rather than a permanent free plan. Paid tiers scale with word volume and features.
Is Writesonic good enough for published content?
Only after real editing. Output sits a clear step below Claude or Jasper, so treat it as a research-and-structure tool rather than a finished draft.
Writesonic or Surfer SEO?
They overlap but are not the same. Surfer optimises content you write elsewhere; Writesonic tries to write and optimise in one place, at lower cost and lower quality.
Can Writesonic publish straight to WordPress?
It offers publishing integrations, but publishing unedited AI drafts directly is a bad idea regardless of how easy the integration makes it. Always edit first.
Is Writesonic good value?
It is cheap for what it covers, which is the point. If you need best-in-class writing or best-in-class SEO, buy those separately — this is the compromise option.
