What Perplexity does
Perplexity is what you use when the answer needs to be checkable. Every response comes with numbered citations you can click, which makes it far safer than a chatbot for competitor research, market sizing or anything that will end up in a client deck. It also shows exactly which pages get cited for a query.
How marketers actually use it
Use it whenever the answer has to survive being questioned. Sizing a market before a pitch, checking what a competitor has publicly announced, finding out which pages currently get cited for a query you want to own — all of it comes back with numbered sources you can click and verify in seconds.
